BIM is being used more and more in the construction industry because it offers many advantages. Projects can be completed faster and more cost-efficiently, for example. Cooperation between the different trades is also facilitated.
In facility management, BIM can be used to optimise the operation of buildings. By integrating data such as maintenance schedules or energy consumption, problems can be detected and remedied at an early stage. Since the beginning of 2021, the use of BIM has been mandatory when allocating state projects in the area of federal infrastructure construction. As from the end of 2022, the use of BIM is also essential for building construction works.
